Alexandria, Virginia Local Branch

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded 97 years ago by a group of earnest and compromising men and women, black and white together, who believed in the democratic process to ensure opportunity for all. It is the oldest and largest organization of its kind.

The Alexandria Branch of the NAACP was chartered in 1934 in Virginia. For 77 years the Alexandria Branch has been dedicated to the principles and vision of the NAACP. The vital work of the NAACP is far from complete. We must continue to work together for equal opportunity, equal justice, and equal rights. Join the Alexandria Branch in Virginia to support our four basic objectives:

  Civil Rights Action
  Community Service
  Citizenship Training
  Leadership Development

We will be conducting a massive City wide voter registration drive in May. Details will be forthcoming.

All our committees and programs are open for volunteers. See our calendar of events for the schedule of meetings and upcoming events.
